Costume Maker / Wardrobe Supervisor

Time commitment: 20 – 40 hours per week
Contract length: 3 months – the end of time
Location: In our Guadalajara, Mexico Studio location

Dirty Work is a full-service media company. We’re a conscious content company entertaining, educating, and informing through storytelling. 

We work with amazing, storied clients, and emerging technologies & agencies. We focus on: fandoms, conventions, community, reboots, streaming, web series, alternative distribution and indie film festivals. We are a new media startup aiming to disrupt the film distribution and production industries. 

The Gig

Dirty Work is seeking an experienced Costume Maker / Wardrobe Supervisor to join our production crew.

About You

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience as a designer and maker
  • Experience working in the film and TV industry creating camera-ready looks in a timely manner

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a safe, clean, efficient and relaxed work atmosphere
  • Oversee costumes for pre-shoot, shoot, and continuity
  • Study production information, such as character descriptions, period settings, and situations in order to determine costume requirements
  • Construct and maintaining costumes
  • Take actors’ measurements to select clothing
  • Search specialty shops, markets, and online stores for clothes and accessories to rent or purchase
  • Source, art finish and alter costumes
  • Coordinate the care, management and organization of costumes 
  • Supervise the dry cleaning and return of rented costumes
  • Packing and unpacking clothes, wigs and other accessories
  • Managing the cleaning, ironing and steaming of garments
  • Duplicate work precisely for continuity
  • Calculate estimated time required for making costumes and styling and dressing performers
